The Sophie Bralette is a comfortable, practical bralette, perfect for everyday wear, made with scalloped lace.
 
With elongated cups and a plunging neckline, it's cute and delicate, perfect for wearing as outerwear or just giving a sneak peek.
 
This sewing pattern has two main variations: one with narrower lace on the shoulders and elastic straps at the back, and another with no elastic straps, made entirely of lace, wider on the shoulders. For the back, you can use a hook and eye closure or make it a slip-on bralette. You can sew it with no lining, partial lining, or full lining.
 
Mix and match the options to create your favorite style, with up to ten possible combinations.

Making the Sophie Bralette is an ideal project for those with beginner to intermediate sewing skills. You'll need a standard sewing machine equipped with zigzag and straight stitches. A serger for overlock stitches and a coverstitch machine for applying band elastic are useful but not required, as a domestic sewing machine with zigzag stitches is more than capable of the task.
 
For materials, you'll need stretch lace with scalloped edges.
You'll also need stretch fabric, but this is optional and only used for lining the front cups.
Additionally, you'll need band elastic, hook and eye closure, strap elastic, sliders and rings, depending on your chosen variation.
